- Tuesday: Review questions from "Harrison Bergeron"; watch 2081 and complete the 7 "Impossible Future?" questions-prepare for Socratic Seminar tomorrow
- Wednesday: Socratic Seminar/Round Table discussion of "Harrison Bergeron"; begin "The Veldt"-watch a new clip about "Ideal House" from Microsoft-create your Ideal Dream Home
- Thursday: Read "The Veldt" by Ray Bradbury; complete the study questions for the story.
- Friday: In class working day-makeup work day
Week of January 7- January 11
- Monday: Independent Novel and 50 examples of elements (in your book) DUE; review annotations and how to type them up in final MLA format (see Annotations Sample below for instructions); SEE STUDENT SAMPLES: ANNOTATIONS for former student examples (button below)
- Tuesday: FINAL typed Annotations Due to turnitin.com by end of class or you will receive a ZERO-being absent does not 'get you out of this' :) ; review Media Center Webpage and located Literary Critique to use in your Literary Criticism about your Ind. Novel
- Wednesday: Complete Library Scavenger Hunt: Literary Criticism (see below...must print and complete for a grade and then print a hard copy of a your self chosen article/critique about your book); Begin working on Literary Critique (using your article); see Literary Criticism Sample below for any questions concerning ideas or format
- Thursday: Must have a hard copy of your Literary Article (using the website from Media Center page);In class working day on Literary Criticism; Please complete the Fill-in-the-blank Lit. Criticism worksheet as a rough draft for your final Critique due on Monday (see link below)

- Monday: Warmup: Vocabulary Study for Chapters 1 -3 ; Chapter 3 Reading Check Quiz; complete Chapter 3 questions (pull from The Great Gastby Chapter ?s ppt below) HW: READ CHAPTER 4 and complete Vocabulary Study packet for Chapter 1- 3 (must get from Heise in class)
- Tuesday: Read Chapters 5-6 (in class, some as a group and some independently); HW: Finish reading Chapters 5-6 and complete Chapter ?s (using the ppt below)
- Wednesday: Chapter 5 & 6 Reading quiz for everyone, regardless of absences (YOU MUST KEEP UP WITH READING!!!!); Read Chapter 7 in class; HW: Complete Chapter 7 SG ?s

- Wednesday: Mrs. West comes to visit from Student Services (reviewing all material for College/Career Ready Juniors)

Week of November 12- November 16
- Monday: No School (Veterans Day)
- Tuesday-Thursday: We are in the Library compiling research and typing up your Final Research Papers
- Thursday: ALL papers are due to turnitin.com by end of class today! I will NOT accept beyond your class period! IT will be a 0!! We have worked on this in class for 6 days.
- Friday: Vocabulary 4 quiz and work on powerpoints for Presentations that start on Monday (great time to practice your presentation in front of class); Must have 180 pages read in your novel (3 more TQEs due today)
Week of November 5- November 9
- Monday: Finish "The Fall of the House of Usher" and "The Raven"...you can find copies online of these two pieces of literature. ***CLICK on link below for study questions
- NO SCHOOL TUESDAY
- Wednesday: choose Mid Term topics, write thesis and come up with 3 prongs for research
- Thursday: 90 pages read in IR book and complete TQE (3 of them); quiz on novel; brainstorm and complete rough draft for Mid Term research topic
- Friday: Begin research and start typing papers
Week of October 29- November 3

- We will continue our Native American Literature unit (read "Origin Myth" by the Navajo tribe and "Iroquois Constitution" by the Iroquois)
- By the end of the week, you will each be in a group that presents a modern day interpretation of the Origin myths
